KCS News Details
Kennebunkport Consolidated School ~ Tel-u-Gram for Friday, May 5th, 2023
Dear KCS Families,
Join us for a celebration of students' work for KCS Arts Night! May 31, 2023- 5:00-6:30 pm -
This will be an enchanted evening, highlighting K-5 Visual Art, STEM work, Spanish Collaborative Projects, Classroom Literacy and a performance by our 5th grade Band. The event will be a sharing of work created by KCS students this spring, all with a common theme of 'nature'. Also, it will be the formal 'opening' of the KCS Garden, where you can enjoy healthy refreshments and community connections. Hope to see you there!
KCS Moose Courtyard Garden is Springing to life! We are nearly ready to add plants to our KCS courtyard garden and are looking for donations. Due to space constraints there is a very specific list of plants we have planned to add to our raised beds. If you are interested and able, please consider signing up to purchase and deliver to our Moose Courtyard on May 22. We have a morning delivery window planned from 8:30-10:00 or an afternoon drop off from 2:30-3:30, but please email if another time would be convenient for you.
For those of you who are planners, the school board of directors recently approved the RSU 21 Instructional Calendar for the 2023-24 school year. Link for Instructional Calendar
Next week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, so please talk with your children about how they can show their gratitude to their teacher. A favorite is a handmade note of thanks; those notes and drawings that children make always bring smiles to our day!
Warm Regards,
Karen Bubar, Principal

Get your KCS Swag… (in case you missed the message earlier this week)
We are opening a short and limited store where you can buy KCS swag for your family! If we have good interest, we can bring the store back next year with more item options.
Our Wellness Team tries to coordinate events and activities throughout the year to support and encourage staff, student, and family wellness. Past events include, a fall Turkey Trot, a winter Sock Hop, our annual Wellness Day, and many other fun and engaging activities throughout the year. While these events do not cost a lot of money to run and we appreciate everything that KCPTA provides our school for funding enriching experiences, we wanted to ensure that we had another option for a funding source for these types of activities. Plus, we thought it would be cool to be able to show our school pride with these clothing items!
Click here to see our KCS swag store. The ordering window closes on Friday, May 19th. You pay online, so the school is not handling any of the actual ordering. Items will be delivered to the school, and we will distribute them to families. More information about distribution will come out later. So, get your KCS swag before the end of the school year!
Community Resources In a moment of crisis, you do not have to be alone. Sometimes you need a conversation--not an internet search. Dial 2-1-1 for the Maine Hotline. This service can help with issues like acute crisis, financial assistance, mental health, addiction treatment, health care, or heating and utilities assistance. Additionally, the national Suicide Hotline is 9-8-8.
