Kennebunkport Consolidated School ~ Tel-u-Gram  for Friday, March 24th, 2023

Dear KCS Families,

Next week, be on the lookout for important information regarding our placement process for the 2023-24 school year and our plans with regard to multiage programming. This week, I heard from Dr. Cooper that she is supporting our request for an additional teacher at the second and third grade level. So, now we can move forward with our planning and placement process. A big thanks to Dr. Cooper for continuing to support the efforts to increase our school’s enrollment.

Staff members have been noticing that students are starting to trickle into school later and later in the mornings. Supervision starts at 7:50, so students can arrive at school that early and have a few minutes outside prior to going to class. The official school day starts at 8:15, and we start marking students tardy at 8:20. Please make an extra effort to have your child(ren) at school by 8:15 at the latest. It’s hard on the children to enter the classroom when everyone else has already started their day.

RSU 21 Summer Boost Program information

We are so blessed to have so many family members joining us each week on Friday mornings. Please, remember that we can not use the Parks & Recreation parking lot on Friday mornings, because they need those spots for their own programming. Thank you for being considerate of their needs and parking elsewhere!

Warm Regards,

Karen Bubar, Principal

A note from Nurse Pro

Spring is almost here!  Which means it is MUDDY and the playground has lots of puddles! Students are coming in from recess and outdoor play with wet shoes and clothes requesting a change of clothes and I am running low on supplies.  Please continue to send your child in with boots and snow gear, even after the snow melts.  Regardless of age or grade, please also consider storing a change of clothes in your student's backpack or classroom. That way if they do accidentally get wet they have a change of clothes that fits them and that they feel comfortable in.  Thank you for your cooperation! -Nurse Pro

Community Resources  In a moment of crisis, you do not have to be alone. Sometimes you need a conversation--not an internet search. Dial 2-1-1 for the Maine Hotline. This service can help with issues like acute crisis, financial assistance, mental health, addiction treatment, health care, or heating and utilities assistance. Additionally, the national Suicide Hotline is 9-8-8.

Here is a list of more resources available to everyone throughout our district and beyond.
