Kennebunkport Consolidated School ~ Tel-u-Gram for Friday, June 3rd, 2022

Dear KCS Families,

At this week’s Friday Morning Meeting, we had a special guest. Our superintendent, Dr. Cooper, joined us to read a book to the students. Ask your child(ren) about Subway Story. Also, we had some brave k/1 students from Ms. O’Neill’s class who got up in front of everyone to teach the entire school some greetings in different lanaguges from around the world. Next week, Friday is our rain date for the field day activities. So, we are waiting to see if we’ll be having Friday Morning Meeting or Field Day on Friday. If we have Friday Morning Meeting, we are looking forward to hearing our 5th grade band play!

In case you missed the COVID news update from RSU 21 yesterday… Today we received the test kits mentioned in the district newsletter for all students and staff. Our plan is to send the kits home with your children. So, be on the lookout for those kits in your child(ren)’s backpacks today or Monday.

Next Wednesday, June 8th is our in-person field day! Thanks, in advance, to all the parents that offered to volunteer and help with activities. Please, make sure to apply sunscreen and bug spray on your child(ren) prior to sending them to school, if you’d like them to have it on, because school staff can not apply it on the children. Sometimes it’s helpful to send in a full change of clothes and a towel for this day too, since the students may get wet with some of the activities. No need to send in an extra water bottle, because we will have water available for students.

Circus Smirkus is coming to Kennebunkport in just over two months! Please be on the lookout for information coming home with your child about ways you can support this fun event - KCPTA's "one and only fundraiser!" If you are interested in joining our Circus Committee, our next PTA meeting is happening Tuesday, June 7 at 6pm in the KCS library. We have also set up a volunteer sign up if you are able to help out at one of the shows on Aug 9th & 10th at 1:00 & 6:00 https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a044aafae28a5ff2-2022. Thank you in advance for your support!

We have had students arriving at KCS before supervision is available. Please, remember that staff is ready to greet students at KCS starting at 7:50am. We appreciate your efforts in respecting our staff members’ time to prepare and plan for their day with your child(ren).

Warm Regards,
