KCS News Details

Dear KCS Families,

We are looking forward to a beautiful field day today!

At this week’s Friday Morning Meeting, which was held on WEDNESDAY, because of field day activities on Friday, we recognized our Civil Rights Team members for their dedication to the mission of welcoming all individuals to our school. Mrs. Roper announced our reading challenge winners for each class. Lastly, the fifth grade full band performed two songs for us. Check out our Twitter page for a picture! The band students  worked so hard this year to learn their instruments, and playing as a full group was something different and new for them. It was wonderful to experience and the other children were so excited to listen! A big thanks to Miss Sukeforth for her hard work and dedication reviving our band program after less participation during COVID. We are so excited to see where she can take our fifth graders in the coming years!

TNTP School Culture Staff Survey Spring Data: Recently, we received our staff responses to the spring TNTP school culture survey and have so much to celebrate! All of our domain scores are not only above national averages, but they are also above district averages. All but one domain increased, and some were significant increases. Our highest scores were in pandemic response and school operations. The three areas that we had identified as goal areas last spring saw significant increases. So, our intentional efforts toward collaboratively planning and reflecting on instruction were realized in the TNTP results with this data. As we look ahead to next year, we will continue to work on our behavior expectations and responses to behaviors, as well as ensuring that all staff, students, and families are aware of our processes.

When you receive report cards next week, please make note that evaluations used to determine grades for Spanish were limited due to unanticipated substitute teacher turnover during this last trimester.
