Kennebunkport Consolidated School ~ Tel-u-GramĀ  for Friday, December 2, 2022

Kennebunkport Consolidated School ~ Tel-u-Gram  for Friday, December 2, 2022

Dear KCS Families,

We are positively overwhelmed that so many of our families chose to participate in the KCS School Song Lyrics Survey. Thank you! Here are the results… We had 163 responses (85% were caregivers and 15% were staff members).

Keep the song as is- 74.2%

Make a change to the specific line in question - 14.1%

Write an entirely new school song- 5.5%

No preference - 6.1%

Given this data, we feel that the message is clear from our families that we should keep our school song as is. We will continue to sing it proudly at our Friday Morning Meetings with a new understanding of what some of the wording meant when originally written. A huge thanks to all 163 people who shared their voice with us to make this decision.

Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, Spanish and STEM classes have been busy during the first trimester of school. Students have been practicing routines, building relationships, exploring new content & skills, and enjoying learning together! Click here to learn more about our allied arts program at KCS. If you’d like to hear even more about our allied arts programming in person and directly from our allied arts teachers, join us on Friday, Dec 9th after Friday Morning Meeting in the art room for Cookies & Conversation!

Warm Regards,

We believe that families are a key element in a child’s education experience. To us, your feedback is invaluable. The family survey is designed to help us understand your experiences with our school and gain insight on how we can engage with you more effectively. Our goal is simply to help our school become better at engaging you and your family in your child’s learning. Together we can create the best learning environment possible for your child.

We are working with TNTP to conduct the survey. Responses will be anonymous and only used to inform future family engagement strategies.  Families should only complete one survey per student.  If you have children at more than one school, please complete the survey for each school at which you have a child.  If you have multiple children at one school, answer the questions with your eldest child in mind.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact us at kbubar@rsu21.net or 967-2121. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your feedback. We value your input and look forward to working with you more closely in the future to ensure a great learning experience for your child.

Cozy for Kids is back! Thanks to one of our students, Dom. Here’s his message to our KCS school community: “Cozy for Kids, it’s that time of year again! If you don’t know what Cozy for Kids is. It’s a blanket drive for kids at Maine General Hospital to keep them cozy while they are there. If you would be so kind as to donate a blanket to a child out there to put a smile on their face. I appreciate it. A bin will be left across from the office. Blanket drive goes from 11/18-12/9.” Thank you for considering giving to this meaningful cause.
